Slander and railing

April 17, 2018 • Fred

I know that slander and railing are wrong as we see in the word of GOD. Remember GOD is love and when you speak evil of someone GOD may take pity on that person and take vengeance on you. This is something I have known for some time as I see it written in the word of GOD so I try my best not to rail or slander another believer even if I do not agree with them. However, I may still try and speak the truth about what they have done or said that I disagree with and yes this at times has made me feel bad about saying it.  Anyway, we need to be careful but not too careful that we do not even warn others about someone who may be leading people in the wrong direction. Keep in mind we still need to love those who are doing that but leave the vengeance up to GOD.  That does not mean we need to be friends with them. I am passing this on so you don’t make the same mistake I make or made. We can speak the truth in love. Either love to warn others or love to try and correct those in error.

Here is a Comment on another site that goes into more details about what I am saying and in a way I am replying to that comment but also trying to help you.

Fred, I believe speaking the truth in love and slander are not necessarily the same thing. The apostle Paul warned other believers as he mentioned the names of those who left him as they found the world more attractive (Demas), of those who really caused him “great harm” (Alexander, the coppersmith), and of those who harmed the church itself (Hymenaeus, Philetus, and Alexander).

I believe it is important to warn others as I detect another false teacher who might deceive many. For me it is not about blaming them or being mad at them. My heart is grieved and I suffer under such a burden for quite some time until God gives me the chance to pray for those (mis)’leaders’ who got side-tracked. I also believe it can be more tempting to be a public figure than an umimportant private God seeker.
Not sure, but I think I know the person you are speaking about. The Bible tells us that one sin of which we did not repent will be followed by more and more sins. The evangelist you might be talking about has become famous for fighting against the tax paying system and they say he refused to pay taxes himself. Penalties seem to be awaiting for him. However, the apostle Paul admonishes us strongly in his letter to the Romans, chapter 13,

1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval,
4 for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.
5 Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience.
6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing.
7 Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.

Also, this public figure I was referring to got side-tracked by focusing on all this creationist-science-evolution stuff. Alas, it also seems he wants to get donations as well (on his blog). What a contradiction to God’s Word that he claims to believe in! 😦

Sharing the goodness and rightousness of GOD part one.

March 24, 2018 • Fred

In this post, I am just sharing how awesome our GOD is. I am not sure how many parts this will be however this is what I feel lead to talk about at the moment.

This is actually something talked about in the book of Psalms as doing with joy.  I can start by showing you how good GOD is from his word. Might as well start with Genesis. First of all, GOD gave Adam and Eve everything they needed. Including unhindered fellowship with him. Oh, what a wonderful place that would have been. Also, Adam was even allowed to name the animals instead of GOD just telling him what to call them, now that is pretty neat if you think about it (Genesis 2:19). After Man had sinned and lost all of that wonderful stuff GOD still showed love to him ( Genesis Chapter 3). He could have just destroyed the Man and started again. GOD also showed kindness by not allowing them to eat from the tree of life.  Now, this I might need to explain a bit. If GOD had allowed Adam and Eve to eat from the tree in the fallen state they would be in a pretty bad state. Something that some people want using technology, I mean people want to try and live forever in the fallen state. That does not at all sound like a good thing. Thankfully we have Jesus to undo the fallen state of Man and make us a new creation that is not in a fallen state. How wonderful is that?

Let’s keep going, now later when Cain sinned GOD still showed love or companion on him by putting a mark on him.  GOD didn’t have to put a mark on Cain or even tell Cain that he would be avenged for someone killing him. Like wow GOD is very good. Now I have to mention that people do and have taken advantage of this goodness of GOD even in this case. Lamech, later on, had done what Cain did and said he would be avenged 70 times 7 (Genesis chapter 4). Jude talks about people turning the grace of GOD into lasciviousness ( Jude 1:4), which is what a lot of people do and as I showed it happened in the past as well. Like people thinking grace is a license to sin.  It is not, in fact, if you love GOD you will not want to sin but to please him. Now we may not be able to do this perfectly and not on our own. We need GOD’s help. First of all, we need his help to know what pleases him and what does not. These are things he can teach us so I recommend reading his word and praying for him to teach you. Also, there are times when we face some pretty strong temptations and will need his help to overcome them. He even asks us to ask him or pray to him (Matthew 26:41) to be delivered from temptations. There have been many times in my life where I have had to turn to GOD in prayer to get help with some pretty strong temptations.  I mean really strong temptations. Temptations that I was not able to overcome on my own but with his help only. Also showing how wonderful our GOD is. He can and does help us in times of need.

What really counts in life?

March 20, 2018 • Fred

An easy answer is GOD and what we do for him. Sometimes all we need to do is wait on him because jumping in and doing something may not be what he wants. Sometimes even doing good may not be what GOD wants. Doing good may not be bad but it may cause more harm than good. A good example mentioned by a friend is if GOD tells you to give 20usd to someone and you give them 100. It may be good but the person only needed 20 and he may have just prayed for 20 and so getting 20 would have had more impact than 100. He would think his prayer was answered.

It is based to wait on the lord and do what he asks us to do sometimes he may not want us to do anything except waiting for him.

Anyway, this is a reply to a friends blog post and something another friend said. Here is the post by a friend.

Rewards from GOD

March 19, 2018 • Fred

This is something I want to share a little about again to lead you to a closer relationship with GOD. I know I mentioned there are 3 main points GOD asked me to share. This does have to do with one of those points maybe even more than one. At some point, I will be editing the about page to show those 3 points in more detail. Anyway, some of this will be preaching to my self, a lot of what I put on here is preaching to my self or something I have preached to my self to encourage my self. some will just be my own thoughts and experiences. This is something I feel GOD does want me to share. Please let me know if this is helpful to you or if I need to be more clear on something as I know I can be unclear at times. Thank you and here goes.

I have heard people say they do things for GOD just because they know they will get rewards in heaven and they say there is no other reason. Another reason that I can share with those that say that is doing things for GOD because you love him. Do you do things for a friend because you will be getting things from them or because you love them? GOD is much more than a friend, way more. He is our Lord, Master, our teacher, and our savior. I think it best reason to do things for him is that you love him. Yes, the bible does say we will get rewards from him. This is an added bonus and actually helps us to love him. He has already given us a lot as it is. So you could also do things for him as a thank you to him and to show him you love him. If you are reading this and are saved these are only a few of the things ( lack of a better word) GOD has given you, Everlasting Life, salvation, forgiveness of all sins, his own spirit (not a thing I was lacking a better word) to guide us and teach us and many other things as well. Also if you are not yet saved and saved here are things he has given you. Hmm not sure how to word this I will just quote a verse here.

James 1:17

King James Bible
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Another reason to love him is right there in that verse.

Be thankful for what you have.

Some might bring up this verse

Matthew 6:19-21 King James Version (KJV)

19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

That verse is true we get to do that in loving him. Added bonus as I like to say as he has given us so much already. Ok, now I am repeating my self. GOD is good and this shows how good he is. He really does care about us.

Anyway, I want to get into something else I heard that has to do with doing things for GOD, not really rewards but I will bring it up here as it seems like a good place to bring it up. Some people do things for GOD to save themselves now this is a bad idea an takes away what Jesus did and may even be disrespectful of Jesus ( am aware that something this is the unforgivable sin, I don’t hold to that). There are those who also do things for Jesus to make up for wrongs they have done ( I think this is called penance by Catholics). This is almost the same as what I just mentioned. There are those who do things out of fear of GOD and that can be wrong depending on the type of fear. There is a fear that is connected with torment and there is a fear connected with Love. The one with torment is bad and the other is good. John Bunyan has a good book about this call the fear of GOD. I recommend checking it out he explains the differences really well. This book is available free. I have a link to a site that has all of his books in my links section.

GOD is very kind

GOD is Kind

IMage taken from Nap time Chat

Have you ever noticed how loving and kind GOD is toward us. I know many of us including my self have trouble doing what he tells us. A lot of times we think we know a better way. How ever later when we do it our way we realize doing it his way would have been better, much better in some cases. Listening to GOD is a good thing because he does care about us and does love us. I know at times it can be hard to tell if he is telling us to do something or not. I guess the best way to know is to realize GOD is love and he will not go against his word. He does not change, he is the same yesterday today and tomorrow. GOD is well worth loving.
