Rewards from GOD

March 19, 2018 • Fred

This is something I want to share a little about again to lead you to a closer relationship with GOD. I know I mentioned there are 3 main points GOD asked me to share. This does have to do with one of those points maybe even more than one. At some point, I will be editing the about page to show those 3 points in more detail. Anyway, some of this will be preaching to my self, a lot of what I put on here is preaching to my self or something I have preached to my self to encourage my self. some will just be my own thoughts and experiences. This is something I feel GOD does want me to share. Please let me know if this is helpful to you or if I need to be more clear on something as I know I can be unclear at times. Thank you and here goes.

I have heard people say they do things for GOD just because they know they will get rewards in heaven and they say there is no other reason. Another reason that I can share with those that say that is doing things for GOD because you love him. Do you do things for a friend because you will be getting things from them or because you love them? GOD is much more than a friend, way more. He is our Lord, Master, our teacher, and our savior. I think it best reason to do things for him is that you love him. Yes, the bible does say we will get rewards from him. This is an added bonus and actually helps us to love him. He has already given us a lot as it is. So you could also do things for him as a thank you to him and to show him you love him. If you are reading this and are saved these are only a few of the things ( lack of a better word) GOD has given you, Everlasting Life, salvation, forgiveness of all sins, his own spirit (not a thing I was lacking a better word) to guide us and teach us and many other things as well. Also if you are not yet saved and saved here are things he has given you. Hmm not sure how to word this I will just quote a verse here.

James 1:17

King James Bible
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Another reason to love him is right there in that verse.

Be thankful for what you have.

Some might bring up this verse

Matthew 6:19-21 King James Version (KJV)

19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

That verse is true we get to do that in loving him. Added bonus as I like to say as he has given us so much already. Ok, now I am repeating my self. GOD is good and this shows how good he is. He really does care about us.

Anyway, I want to get into something else I heard that has to do with doing things for GOD, not really rewards but I will bring it up here as it seems like a good place to bring it up. Some people do things for GOD to save themselves now this is a bad idea an takes away what Jesus did and may even be disrespectful of Jesus ( am aware that something this is the unforgivable sin, I don’t hold to that). There are those who also do things for Jesus to make up for wrongs they have done ( I think this is called penance by Catholics). This is almost the same as what I just mentioned. There are those who do things out of fear of GOD and that can be wrong depending on the type of fear. There is a fear that is connected with torment and there is a fear connected with Love. The one with torment is bad and the other is good. John Bunyan has a good book about this call the fear of GOD. I recommend checking it out he explains the differences really well. This book is available free. I have a link to a site that has all of his books in my links section.

New focus of site I think?

March 11, 2018 • Fred

A lot has happened in the past few days.  Where to start I guess I will start with something that happened a few days ago.  I was in a Christian chat and a topic came up and I tried to correct someone however they refused to accept correction. I was heartbroken by this. What I learned from this however is we cannot teach anything to anyone especially if they do not want to be taught. Even Jesus did keep trying to correct people and go after them. I am sure it breaks his heart when people walk away from him though.

Now let’s go to yesterday. I had a talk with a good Christian friend who knows a lot more then I do. One that is far closer to GOD then I am. It was a short conversation about one of the posts that were not helpful to him, that is fine. I know my goal is to find truth in the overwhelming amount of info out there.  Which only GOD can help me with. So far I have only tried to encourage people to have a relationship with GOD and Jesus without the fear of coming to him or the fear of the unforgivable sin. Which I know some people struggle a lot with. I mean the fear, not the sin. They fear they are not good enough they fear they sinned too much to be saved and so on an so forth. I want to encourage you to not stop seeking. If you are able to seek then that is a good thing. If you are wanting to come to Jesus then that is also a good thing. Not everyone struggles with this however so what should the focus of the site be? I know it also came up yesterday that the Holy Spirit should be the one to teach instead of men or women.  Does this mean I should not have the site at all? The idea came up. However, even though he is the only one we should allow teaching us that does not mean we do not need each other as Paul said here.

1 Corinthians 12:21
King James Bible
And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

So we do need each other to lift each other up and to encourage one another. Also to help us stay focused on Jesus and not our selves. So I guess that maybe the future focus of the site, I think.  At least encouraging others by seeking the truth and the truth will set you free. I know I am going to need GOD’s help as I do feel it was his desire for me to do this. Also, I know that GOD to teach others through me if he wanted to as he can do with others.

Also, there was something else mentioned by that friend and another friend. That is that we need to try not to analyze GOD or his word. I find it interesting that 2 people almost back to back said that same thing to me and neither of them knows each other. I guess I may be guilty of this and yet I know GOD is far greater than we are and we can not know everything about him. To know everything about him would make us greater and we are not.

Never give up seeking GOD. He is so GOOD that he is well worth having a relationship with. He is the creator of heaven and earth and he desires to free us from sin and death and have a relationship with us.

Getting Taught by GOD

March 10, 2018 • Fred

A friend of mine posted a new blog entry on his blog.  I wanted to comment on it on my own blog.

Do We Seek Christ as Our Teacher?

That reminds me of what is at the beginning of one of my bibles.

A note in the beginning of the bible. This is a restored Names translation of the bible.

I know a lot of us including my self, seek answers to our questions and do not always go to GOD for the answers. This has gotten me into some trouble as I have many many conflicting teachings in my head. I guess sorting those out is part of the reason for this site. It is very important to seek GOD for answers. I know it may be a challenge to know if you are hearing from GOD or not. GOD will never go against what he has said in his word and also do not forget that he is love. Also, we can not understand his word without him showing us what it means. I know some will say this creates a circle of sorts. Just do not give up seeking GOD and his truth.

I don’t want anyone to just accept what I say as I might be wrong please Go to GOD to see if I am right or wrong. I know I try to only post what I feel is right but I still could be wrong. As it is written, test every spirit and see if it is of GOD or not. I encourage you to go to GOD with everything.

The unforgivable sin

March 10, 2018 • Fred

This sin has been talked about a lot. My desire here is to show you what GOD has shown me about this sin. I watched a video not long ago about this sin and for the most part, I agree with her. I think only some minor things I do not agree with which I will not get into at the moment as I want to focus on this sin and what GOD has shown me and I would rather not get into things that are more then likely my opinion on things, basically things I am not sure if I am right or wrong on, I would rather stay away from things I am not sure about.

Anyway, lets get into what I was shown. First, there are 3 or 4 requirements to actually committing the sin and not be forgiven. These are in no specific order, however, I know all would have to be met in order for someone to commit this sin. We will start with the one mentioned in Hebrews 6 verse 6:

Hebrews 6:6 King James Version (KJV)
If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

The last part “put him to an open shame”, the word open is important here.  Meaning this sin is done openly in front of 2 or more witnesses.

The next one is also mention in Hebrews:

Hebrews 10:26 King James Version (KJV)
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

wilfully sinning is the part we want to look at there. Basically doing this sin intentionally. So with this and the other one together we have someone doing this sin intentionally in front of 2 or more witnesses. Also, note that this verse in Hebrews is in fact just about the unforgivable sin, not all sin. Although yes we should not sin but not out of fear but out of love for Jesus and his Father and his Spirit. Also, I want to mention here that people have unintentionally put Jesus to an open shame and still have been forgiven. That is why both would need to be required.  We still want to be careful and not put Jesus to an open shame with our actions especially if we want to lead others to Jesus to get them saved. Not that we can do this on our own. We need the help of the Holy Spirit and the grace he gives us.

Next is what I called the Esau requirement again mention in Hebrew and Genesis

Hebrews 12:16 King James Version (KJV)

16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

If you remember from the book of Genesis Esau despised his birthright. How this relates to the unforgivable sin is the birthright, in this case, would be Salvation itself. So if you love your salvation or don’t want to lose it or give it up this would actually be a good thing and you would not meet this requirement.

The last requirement which can sometimes be one in the same requirement as the Esau requirement which is why I say 3 or 4.  The last one is having a hard heart toward GOD. So if you have any love toward GOD you would not meet this requirement. Also if you are wanting a relationship with him and honestly seeking him you have not met this requirement.

Something else that was shown to me is why there is such a sin if GOD wants everyone to be saved.

2 Peter 3:9 King James Version (KJV)

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

In that verse to me, it seems clear that GOD wants everyone to come to repentance and be saved. So it confused me as to why GOD would make a sin that could not be forgiven if he wants everyone to be saved. So I asked the question to him. Hard to explain the answer however basically the answer is in the question. As the question is why is there an unforgivable sin if he wants everyone to be saved.  Anyway, that is the whole point he does want everyone to be saved so it grieves him when someone refuses to be saved when he made an easy and the only way to be saved which is through Jesus Christ. There is no other way to be saved. In other words, it is because of his love that such a sin exists. Think of it this way it is like someone showing love toward another person yet that person refusing to accept that love. Now I am not talking about stalkers, GOD is not a stalker and will let you go if you refuse to accept his love. He will not force his love on you. That does not mean he is any less upset and angry with you. A good book in the bible to see an example of this is in the book of Hosea.

He loved the world so much that he sent his son to die for us.  You can see how upset GOD gets in the old testament when someone is wanting to go back to Egypt and murmurs against GOD. He is showing them such love and yet they want to go back to Egypt. Just think of how you would feel about that. He does not force his love on anyone but he does love everyone.  I don’t see this as much different from the Unforgivable sin, in fact, I see what the Israelites did as the same as what is mentioned in the new testament. Now remember the requirements above as I know people get upset at GOD and that is not the unforgivable sin. People do an have gotten upset at GOD and still been able to repent and be forgiven.

Now in light of everything that I have said above we come to what the unforgivable sin is. Although maybe you have figured it out. There has been much debate about what the sin is. Keep in mind the requirements as well as the fact that GOD wants everyone to come to repentance because he is love.

You must also be aware that the awesome spirit of GOD bears witness to Jesus. So, in other words, he is bringing us to Jesus to be saved as Jesus is the only way to be saved. We can not save our selves. When Jesus did his work the works were done in the power of the Holy Spirit, also making the Holy Spirit one who was a witness to Jesus. John the Baptist was another witness mentioned by Jesus. There you go 2 witnesses and there were more than just those 2.

I am aware of the literal view of the unforgivable sin. The literal view is giving satan credit for something GOD did. Which is in the context of the verses that talk about the unforgivable sin however not the overall context of the whole bible and it leaves out that GOD is love. Also, this can be done by accident and not on purpose which you see accounts of in the bible. Even though I do not believe this is the sin I do still think it is best not to do this. I know at one time with this view it bothered me a lot because it seemed difficult if not impossible not to commit. Especially when trying to find if someone is of GOD or not or trying to find if someone is a false prophet or not. I got so scared at one time I just accepted everyone who was teaching about the Bible and refused to call anyone a false prophet. I still actually refuse to do this as I honestly do not know if someone is or not. However, I do not accept everything said by everyone that is trying to teach the word of GOD because not everyone can be correct as there are too many teachings that are in conflict with one another. I know that many of these have said GOD told me or GOD showed me. I guess even I do that. I accept that I could be wrong and so could they be wrong.

Another view is hard to explain however it is one that T. Austin Sparks teaches. I may have a bit of trouble wording this one as it is similar to what I have been shown. This view is when someone is so self-righteous that they think they have saved themselves and think will go to heaven based on what they have done. This view is very prideful and based on pride. I think T Austin Sparks actually says ” someone who says they do not need Jesus”.  I personally need Jesus every second of every day, I think everyone does especially if you want to go to heaven. I want to repeat I need Jesus / Yeshua every day!!  John Bunyan had a similar view of this sin. Although probably not the exact same considering his view on John 6:37.

Another view is someone who breaks the third commandment, I only know of a few people who teach this one and it is a new view for me as I only came across this less than a year ago. This view is the same as what Job’s wife told Job to do so you have to understand the 3rd commandment in that way. Here is what Job’s wife Told job to do.

King James Version Job 2:9
9 Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.

I do not recommend doing that view as you are not showing much love toward GOD. Although I do not believe that is the sin. It may fit with a few of the requirements though so don’t do what Job’s wife told Job to do.  Hmm in typing and going through and correcting things I may have known about this view before as I am reminded that after reading the book of Job a few times and even watching videos about Job that I got a bit scared to ever use them and I guess I am still scared to say it but it is the c word that means the opposite of blessing.

Another view is to allow someone to rule over you instead of Jesus. This is a bad thing, however, I do not think it is this sin. I have seen people forgiven for this.

There are other views at the moment as this is getting long I think I will say what I have been shown and is my view which is similar to what T. Austin Sparks and John Bunyan taught and that is to basically not get saved or to not accept salvation or to despise salvation. Also, the sin is to have a lot of Hate toward GOD and no love toward him at all. This fits with the fact that GOD is love. GOD wants to save every one and when someone refuses to get saved or has hate toward GOD specially after he has shown you many many times his loving intents toward you through works and signs and wonders ( signs and wonders like these are done through the power of the holy spirit)  just like we see with Jesus and even in the old testament when the people Murmured against him. Also, keep in mind that the Holy Spirit leads people to Jesus and the signs and wonders are done in his power hence the reason the sin is called Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.  I am very much aware that someone can feel unworthy of salvation and this is not the sin and is probably the opposite of this sin, to be honest.

Also, I should mention what blasphemy says in the strong’s “to vilify; especially, to speak impiously : (speak), defame, rail on, revile, speak evil of. ”

Well, that right there would say the sin would have to be spoken openly and intentionally so in fact summarizes all the requirements in one word.  How interesting is that?

My apologies for rambling on and on and even repeating my self. I may have to shorten this a bit, however, I wanted to make this as clear as possible.
